PPI claims have hit their highest level in four years during the second half of 2017, the financial watchdog said, ahead of the 29 August PPI complaints deadline. The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) reported that PPI complaints rose by 40 per cent between the first and second half of last year to reach 1.55m.
The watchdog said £415.8m was paid out January in redress to customers complaining about being mis-sold PPI, which is the highest amount since March 2016 and takes the total payout since January 2011 to £30bn.
Also, Lloyds have put another 90M aside recently to compensate for the extra number of PPI claims being presented against them this year, taking its total bill to £18.8bn.
With only nearly one year left to make a claim, we are also seeing increased activity in PPI claims. So isn’t it time to at least have a look into your old loans, credit cards mortgages and even store cards?
We conduct a FREE PPI CHECK and all work is no win no fee so nothing really to loose and hopefully a pleasant surprise of a refund check if you did pay PPI!
